Abdominal Massage & Kamphii Warayoksahn

19 – 22 March, 2025

Thai traditional medicine emphasizes the importance of the abdomen, the organs, digestion and the digestive process as a fundamental aspect contributing to one’s health. Applying therapies such as massage, oils, liniments and compresses to the abdomen in specific ways directly addresses the digestive system and the organs of the abdomen. In this four day workshop, we will be introduced to the techniques of abdominal massage, to address the five layers of the body. There will be a special emphasis on the technique for addressing the Sen Prathaan Sip or Ten Sen. The techniques portion of this class will be taught in person only.

As one must have little to no food in the stomach to practice abdominal massage, the morning sessions will be instruction and practice of abdominal massage techniques. Afternoon sessions will be devoted to the study of Kamphii Warayoksahn. In this text we will specifically be looking at the three dosas, digestive fire and the digestive process. The text portion of this class will be available via Zoom.

This class is recommended for those with previous traditional medicine study with SD Yogi, however, newcomers are also welcome.
